N.C.C ( National Cadet Corps )

The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.NCC is an active wing of the school enjoyed by boys and girls. Under N.C.C students gets the opportunity to groom themselves into disciplined and Patriotic citizens.

NCC Day

PARTICIPANTS: All NCC and Band students of Silver Point School.

OBJECTIVES:

NCC Day is celebrated in order to remember the goals and objectives behind the youth organisation.
NCC’s motto – Unity and Discipline – spread the idea of devotion to duty, loyalty, dedication, discipline and concept of self-sacrifice in students.
It also helps students in growing patriotism and self respect towards their country.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

The program started with the opening song .
It followed up by the felicitation of guest of honour.
Then we had a march past rally done by the students of NCC and Band team.
It was followed by the Chorus song performance by both Vocal and NCC cadet students.
It was followed by the speech of guest which really motivated the children a lot.
Then we had a beautiful dance performance by the dancers of the dance team of Silver Point School.
The program was wrapped up by the closing song 'followed up by the school song and National anthem.

CONCLUSION:

NCC helps cadets to improve their overall personality by teaching them leadership qualities, discipline, honesty, working in a team, time management, to have high self-confidence, being physically fit, service before self, social service, and responsibility of service towards motherland and to be a responsible citizen.
This was just a small program by the Silver Point School students and teachers to spread awareness about the importance of the NCC day.
Silver Point School always look forward to spread helpful awareness around the society.

Khidirpur Dock Visit

To commemorate the day and with an endeavour to bring the Navy close to the citizens of the country, various events are conducted.

To celebrate the Navy Day which is on 4th December, the Indian Naval Ships also visit Kolkata and are kept open for organised visits of school students.

This year one frontline Warship visited Kolkata and berthed in Khidderpore Dock. Secondary and Senior Secondary Students of our school visited the Naval ship between on 21 Dec 23.

Sneha Halder Batch of 2019 HS receives the Governor's Medal

Sneha Halder Batch of 2019 HS receives the Governor's Medal for her achievements in NCC.Rank : Cadet Under Officer (CUO) .Her aim is to join Indian Defence Service and to play an essential role in the safety and security of our nation.

Rock Climbing Course

Thirteen students and NCC of Silver Point School from classes IX to XI went for a Rock Climbing course. This adventure course was held at Susunia Hills at Bankura. The students learnt the skills of rock climbing and allied techniques. The training was organized by Institute of Exploration. rock climbing is a great way to work on your endurance, build strength and confidence

NCC Examination

NCC 'A' Certificate Examination held today at school. Officer from Fort William came to school to conduct the examination. Both theory and Physical fitness test was held. 10 cadets appeared for the examination.

Demonstration of INSAS

SDM Madhu Kr Samanta and Hav. Rajib Kumar from Fort William demonstrated the parts and operations of INSAS and 0.22 Rifle to our NCC. The aim is to make the cadets know about these fire arms and to learn how to upkeep them and use them. It was indeed a thrilling experience.

Attended Camp in Newtown

NCC of Silver Point School honoured and certified for attending camps in Newtown Kolkata. They were expose to basic rock climbing training and motive of the camp was to inculcate the spirit of adventure.

All India Mountaineering Expedition

All India Mountaineering Expedition 2019 flagging off with NCC Sneha Haldar. Reach the height.She shared her experience that Mountaineering Expedition adventurous but it gives immense happiness and contentment.

First Prize in Rifle Shooting

Class X students Indrani Murmu and Sabyasachi Mandol bagged the first prize in rifle shooting at Fort William. Indrani Murmu got 4500/- as prize money n Sabyasachi Mandol got 3500/- as prize The cheques were handed over to the cadets by Commanding Officer at Fort William.

NCC club house art competition

Sneha Halder of Silver Point School got second prize in poster making competition on World Health Day, held at NCC Club House today.

Rifle Shooting Training
